With a solid track record in healthcare consultancy, Tom brings immense experience and subject-matter expertise to his role of leading Novia’s Non Labor practice. This highly successful, rapidly growing practice helps clients across the country reduce non labor costs and sustain those savings over the long-term. Tom and his team work closely with clients to identify savings opportunities, obtain stakeholder support, and educate staff on utilization to maximize and sustain the savings.
Under Tom’s leadership, the Non Labor practice team delivers projects that span the full range of non-labor cost savings, including supply chain, supply utilization and physician preference cards, food and environmental services, laboratory, pharmacy, vendor contract negotiation and management, and GPO negotiations and membership terms. This broad and deep approach, combined with refined assessment and implementation strategies, ensures identification and capture of all cost-saving opportunities.
During his career, Tom has led successful implementations at community hospitals, large academic medical centers, and integrated delivery networks across the country – ultimately delivering hundreds of millions of dollars in non labor savings.
In his practice, Tom regularly develops specialized assessment and implementation strategies for large-scale non labor, supply chain and preference product initiatives, all of which requires targeted communication strategies with C-Suite executives, physicians and department leadership. Tom’s prior experience as a national practice leader for physician preference solutions, where he had primary responsibility for the development, management and sales of various cost-saving solutions in surgery, cath lab, and interventional radiology departments, enables him to deliver strategies that achieve the desired results.
